Maine Reef Workshop at the Gorham Library
Jan Windsor had an enthusiastic group of kids creating for the reef last week! They worked on Brain Coral and jelly fish.
Here's Molly with her brain coral creation.
Wyatt is a knitter that I taught to crochet several weeks ago at the HOB Artwalk.
Here is his brain coral.....
And his jelly fish.....
Ridley, Ryan and Chloe had fun making their stuff too!

Maine Reef Progress Report
July brought lots of reef activity to Maine! Not only have we received some nice work which I posted on earlier and some workshops at the Gorham library, but it also brought some fiber folks together to work on the overall reef design and foundation pieces that will hold the many contributions that people have sent us.
So Exciting!
I thought you might enjoy getting a sneak - peek so am posting a few pics of our activities during our workdays. I don't want to reveal too much of the design because I want you all to be surprised as well as amazed when you come to see the exhibit during fair week September 30th - October 7th.
Julie Yarborough and Karen Cornell are measuring for the "base rock" pieces.

Jane, where are you?
Nuno Felted Kelp you say?
It's not dyed yet.....
Good Job Janet Conner and Linda Whiting!
It was great to see, visit and work with these ladies outside of fair season when we barely have time to smile at one another and say hello.
Our weekend at The Fiber Center was very successful!

Two Month Countdown for Contributions!
YIKES! ONLY TWO MONTHS LEFT TO CONTRIBUTE......
So get those hooks moving and put some of that winter leftover stash to good use! Get your creations in to us by September 1st to ensure that your work is included in the Maine Reef installation in the Fiber Center at this year's Fryeburg Fair.
We have been receiving some beautiful contributions but we can never have too much work! We need YOUR help to make the final push. We have received work from 50 contributors so far and we are trying to hit 100. YOU can help make it happen!
I know of people out there that are working on projects but I have no way of knowing how many people we have touched.I look forward to receiving work from some of you Ravelry contributors as well as a group of Vermonters I met at SPA. Who else is out there with work waiting to be sent in? Let us know.
How exciting! Can't wait to see what you all send in!

Biddeford Artwalk Brought New Contributions For the Maine Reef
Last Friday night, the Heart of Biddeford was hopping with Reef activity! A new sample display of the reef was put out and the nice weather brought folks out for the evenings Artwalk. We spoke to lot of folks about the project and the upcoming exhibition at the Fiber Center at the Fryeburg Fair beginning on September 30th.
Knitter, 9 y.o. Wyatt, came in for a crochet lesson and was a quick study! Good job Wyatt! We look forward to getting a contribution from you soon.
Thanks to Dean Lyons from Old Orchard Beach, Me. who continues to create for the reef project and brought some more work in.
Thanks too to Pat Burkard from Bolsters Mills who added to her previous contribution as well.
Also new in the last days was this contribution mailed in from Sylvia and Karen Grover of N. Waterford.
We appreciate all your hard work! Thank you!
